Oil tank shutdown

Shutdown of a heating oil tank

Procedure when decommissioning a heating oil tank

1

Emptying

Pumping off the existing heating oil. The oil is filtered and separated from dirt or oil sludge. If the residual oil is of the appropriate quality, it can also be transported to neighbors / acquaintances without any problems!

2

cleaning

After emptying the oil sludge is properly disposed of and the tank is completely cleaned and degreased with an oil binding agent. Any existing inner shell is removed after cleaning.

3

Removal of the inner shell

After cleaning, an inner shell is professionally removed and disposed of. Existing leakage fluid is also sucked off and disposed of. All fittings are emptied and dismantled.

4

Shutdown

Finally, the legally prescribed decommissioning test of the underground tank is carried out by an expert. Now the tank can be filled or, for example, used for rainwater harvesting.

4

Shutdown

An expert test is only required for basement tanks for systems larger than 10,000 liters. The tank can then remain in the building. As a rule, however, basement tanks are removed in order to be able to use the space.
